Shards of broken trust
Shards of broken trust Shards of broken trust, scattered like fragments of glass, Each piece sharp and jagged, cutting deep into the past, Once whole and strong, now shattered and torn, Leaving a heart in pieces, so bruised and worn, I trusted you with all that what was true, But you took advantage, of the love we once knew, You promised me forever, but it was all a lie, Now all that remains, are tears that I cry, The pain of betrayal, cuts like a knife, Leaving me raw, with a shattered life, I thought we were forever strong, But now I see, we never did belong, You used me, you crushed me, you tore me apart, Leaving me broken, with a shattered heart, I tried to salvage, what was left of our broken trust, But the pieces were too small, leaving behind only dust, I pick up the fragments, one by one, Trying to mend what once was done, But the damage is too great, the trust too far gone, Leaving me alone, with nothing to hold on, Shards of broken trust, a painful reminder, Of how easily love can be torn apart like roaring thunder, I will heal, I will mend, I will rise above, But I'll never forget, the shards of broken trust.
