Shadows on the wall
Father is sitting just inside the hut I am sitting far across the hut, playing with the shadows on the wall Bright sunlight comes in through the door way Father blocks most of it Outside, the sun drops lower, Other shadows start creeping into the hut Father's shadow grows more vague, climbs further up the wall His shadow moves behind sharper Now the sun shines brilliantly before going down Shadows of bushes and grass at the edge Father's features are cut more sharply His nose becomes longer everytime he nods He is sleeping while sitting Father dozes, wakes up, and the sun goes down His shadow expands and fades Now it seems all over the wall Other shadows, moving silently like cold wind
