Shadows on the Floor (Part 1)
The bottle was my only friend. But it's no friend at all. With feelings so low there isn't an end. As I sit here listening for a call. And I stand here on the floor. With machines thundering in the air. As my bills make me feel even more poor. With no penny to spare. I came home with a broken soul. Filled and tathered with scars. As I begin my stroll. I realized I can't reach the stars. I'm pushing away the ones that care. Cause anger stole my laughter as my pain drowns its noise. The pain is so hard to bear. It feels like I've lost all my joys. But the shadows on the floor never fade away. I had let the darkness in and it has almost taken my life. It caused my nights to turn into day. The only thing that keeps me going is my loving wife.
