shadows of the empty
every day I repeat the same pattern I smile and wave, inside I cry and scream I listen and laugh, inside I weep and wallow I give my hearts shards, inside I crumble I wander in the dark, nary a light or lantern searching for the light in me I can redeem but the echoes reveal inside I am hollow I am nothing, but people think I'm humble that I'm good, kind, smart, loving, and safe but those are empty and hollow like me when they only see me as a lie I can't deny because I feel like a shadow pretending life wishing I was as real and free, love I crave even though I don't believe it can truly be dead eyes gaze up at the night sky becoming one with the shadows by knife.
