shadows of innocence
In the tender age of twelve, my world turned gray, Sunshine snatched, innocence stolen away. A shadow cast, a cruel and silent thief, Robbed of joy, left with nothing but grief. Invisible scars etched upon my soul, A haunting echo, a story untold. No refuge found, no solace in the night, Alone I fought, drowning in silent fright. Ignored cries lost in the abyss of pain, A shattered innocence, forever stained. No eyes to see, no ears to hear my plea, Lost in darkness, chained, unable to flee. Yet in the depths, a flicker of light, A whisper of hope amidst the endless night. With every breath, I reclaim my voice, Refusing to let darkness be my choice. Though scars may linger, and wounds may ache, I rise, resilient, from the ashes I make. For though my sunshine was stolen away, I'll find my light, I'll reclaim my day.
