Shadows Among Friends
In shadows of laughter and voices so loud, I'm a specter, unnoticed, lost in the crowd. Among friends I stand, yet apart I remain, Invisible feelings, like tears in the rain. I yearn to be seen, to be heard, to be known, But my presence, it seems, is easily thrown. They talk and they jest, in their world so carefree, While I'm on the fringe, a ghost, it would seem. Invisible whispers of thoughts in my mind, Seek solace in solitude, solace I find. But oh, how I long for a friend's warm embrace, To pull me from shadows, to see my true face. Yet deep in my heart, a glimmer of hope, That someday they'll notice, help me to cope. For friendships can mend, like the dawn's gentle light, And the invisible heart can rejoin the fight. So, I'll wait with patience, hold on to the thread, That one day they'll see me, not just the dread. Invisible no longer, I'll find my own way, In this friend group of shadows, I'll shine like the day.
