SHADOWS
You see them wheezing Thinking it's a touch from June The coldest visitor That spares no man But noo It's a loss keeping them cold A missing cable Not new Not old Just a very reliable wire lost Memories are still fresh You left one morning Unaware it was your last step home Not knowing you will sleep forever And never get back home Why not a whisper in my ear "Son, I might never come" Maybe I would have asked for your last word Blessings and wished you well Is it because goodbyes are sad? And here you're Close yet a distance away Not even loud cries echoes in your ears In my eyes you remain yet I can't get your touch The same hope you left me with Is what will and keeps me standing One day I will see you again For now Let me climb this deep pit you've left me in Forever and always You remain my shadow
