Shadows
Walls adorned in the bones of the dead Whispers of lives long lost in ancient abyss What some perceive ugly is beautiful entwined with red thread Beauty etched in romance with every kiss To whom it matters, we laugh in darkness In the light, we feel discarded Cast in shadows upon the color starkness To leave hearts broken and guarded But when we find a fellow child of night We no longer dwell on our discarded smiles Let those who misunderstand run in fright And face life with elegance through all trials Judge, not others For we all were young and protected by our mothers
