Shadow Hunt
Looking into you, I see a promise that sits far into the stretches of my insulated peace— a place where no light gets to see the shape of my developing future. There's a darkness playing hide and seek, and my inner child skips a beat to get closer, knowing that his eyes are as tired as the rolling flame in the pale, stiff winter. I seek understanding through an absent touch. The image of tomorrow swims in the deep end and scurries up the stream. I'm right behind you with a bow and arrow. I'm blind to you, but my aim will one day fasten itself to its final kill. I harvest your dark figures and bring light to all that hides from me.
