Shadow and Light 1.
The shadow turns to the light: "Where are you going, my bright wanderer?" Through the clouds, ablaze in purple, He carries the day, and in the silent abyss, Leaving the night behind, he soars above the earth. The luminary rises, gilded in mist, The dawn beam pierces the silence, Fog trembles, chilling before the morning, And the shadow observes, rising on the wave, Weaving a new day in the heavenly tapestry. The dawn blazes, glowing with rays, Awakening birds in groves and fields, The shadow whispers softly, unfearing of the sun: "Where are you rushing in the morning realms?" Light replies, in brilliant triumph, At zenith, the sun, ablaze with heat, Burns shadows in the clear midday hour, The earth glistens, blooming beneath the light, And the wind falls still, frozen in rays, The day rules the world in golden splendor. The shadow retreats, fleeing into the crevices, Where crowns bend beneath his wing, But still asking after the sun: "Why do you shine in the azure sky?" Light flows down in boundless joy.
