Shadow
Do they look down upon us? With shame and disgust? They know what we do, Yet they're silenced. There's no point in lying. They know our feelings, They know our past, Yet they can't expose us. Silence. Like their voice boxes were stolen. They can't hurt or break us, Yet why are we so afraid? We wonder who follows us, The one who knows everything. A pitch of darkness behind us, Yet they're the brightest part of us. Our thoughts and feelings into one, Moulded into the person we want to be, Who we aim to be, Yet we're still afraid. Why? They're just shadows, They can do no harm, Our past dwell within them, Yet the past seems to help them keep calm. They're just shadows, Built from our past, present, and future. Our mind tells us to stay away, Yet the heart knows better. - Iris ♡
