shackles or gain
A week out of shadows, fresh from the fight, The devil laid traps in the cloak of the night. A glittering bag, a sinister snare, The weight of temptation hung thick in the air. My hands trembled, my heart caught in fear, The echoes of failure rang sharp in my ear. A whisper of ruin, a promise of pain, Would one fleeting moment bring shackles or gain? But a fire within, a resolve newly sown, Reminded my soul of how much I had grown. With strength I refused, with faith I declined, The devil’s false gift, his poisonous bind. For one simple choice can redeem or destroy, Can drown out the darkness or cradle pure joy. I walked past the trap, left sin in my past, And thanked the divine for a freedom that lasts.
