Set Me Free (Baby Please)
Ha! You think I'm scared to be left alone? Baby, you ain't done with your bullshit yet? Your words can break a heart, but not a bone. I swear, I'll leave you, or it will be my death. You freeze my heart with your empty, cold stare, brutally squeeze it with your harsh remarks, then thrust disgusting lust when I'm all bare, leaving me bruises and forever marks. Can you still call this love? This sickening poor attempt to save what was left in us? Lost for words, wall between us thickening, with this growing strife we never discuss. Baby, I wonder where your love has gone, when years ago we're still burning in fire? But this is the harsh truth: what's done is done, all left was us, both clad in needs and tires. I so wish you'd let me go, pretty please. Can't take this, babe, it's eating me alive. Stop this pain; just set my heart free with ease. Oh, just leave me; I promise I'll survive. ©reddragonfly⚘ (one of my old poems, written years ago)
