Separate and Jointed
we all went our separate ways promises of tomorrow like the cool breeze that escapes you. Refreshing but brief. pointing hands to promise and sealed with a toast, I bang my heel against the memory. the bars are closed my beer is gone the graveyard foliage looks at me I stare at the thought of death my friends are no different they sit beneath me waiting... waiting... for one last intoxicating drop at the end of the day's shift.
