self reflection
I asked myself, “What’s wrong with me?” With a pain in my heart and a knot in my throat, I’m done with this, and I’m done with me. Take me away for eternity, Let there be no more, I can’t be me. The light I thought I saw was just a speck of dust, Why did I think it would be different? Why did I think I would be better? Why do I feel so alone, in this endless tether? I lost myself, and my dreams are shattered, In this spiral of who I’m supposed to be. Everything around me just won’t stop, Let this anxiety go, let this fear drop. Tremble of despair, please leave me alone, I can’t, I can’t, no more of me. I can’t do this, just stop, please, Let me find some peace, let me be free. I don’t know who you want me to be, It feels like you want to change all of me. You’re in my head, saying I’m nothing, I don’t care what you say, I won’t be bluffing. I don’t respect you, watch me crumble you, And drop you like nothing, I’m through. Asleep is where I escape, where I am another, But I’m not free, you sneak in my dreams and smother. You torture me, it’s an endless cycle, you see, I can’t break free, it’s consuming me.
