Seeping Salve
As for the soul that’s numbed with pain, That no longer knows, what it’s like to rain Now a sigh of relief those silent weeps The stagnant water as it slowly seeps The longer inside, the fouler it smells Choking out life, as it daringly swells As for the heart that’s lost its shine Longing for the glint of a teary sign The hole inside like a burning coal A searing pain on the muffled soul Even in the void, the heart still knows To yearn for the salve that endlessly flows As for the mind, seeking out peace Weary with thoughts like buzzing bees Lost in the noise, those repressed fears Maybe a flood, could flush out tears Deep from the bones down to the cheeks The seeping salve as it silently leaks
