Seed of Greed
I look back at those who sunk they claws in me, You helped me pave a new way, painfully. I look forward to new growth — Like a plant expelling its shell, reaching for hope. I don’t wish the storm’s pond on no one, It was hard for me to stand in the rain alone, son. When I needed help to grow, I got ignored, Left in the dirt, where my own roots poured. Look at me now — standing tall, feeding all, But I’m still just a tool, fueling greed’s call. I’m not what you wanted, but I’m what you need — Yet people never want what they need, indeed. They crave what breaks them, not what heals, So my love became just another meal — For a succubus of greed to feed and leave, Left me hollow, but I still believe.
