“ see you again at sunset ”
In the golden haze of the eve's twilight, We stood side by side, in the fading light, You spoke soft words, promising we'd meet, Among the hues of a sunset so sweet. But here I am, with memories so dear, Your weight on my shoulders, now burdened with fear, As you rest your head, and close your eyes, A farewell, it seems, to our sunset skies. Isn't the sunset beautiful, you whispered low, Those words, etched in my heart, never to let go, But now I watch, as the day bids adieu, Alone, as the colors fade, and dreams subdue. The sky paints a canvas of purple and gold, With streaks of vermilion, captivating and bold, Yet, in this splendor, my hopes start to wane, For the sunset I longed for, forever remains. The promise we made, embraced by the night, Lingers like shadows, in this bittersweet plight, And though you rest, finding solace in sleep, I'm left here to wonder, alone, and weep. But still, I'll remember, that moment so grand, As we stood as one, hand in hand, Promising to meet again, where the sunset lies. So even though I watch, detached and forlorn, The beauty of the sunset.
