Secret Code
The sweet sounds of yesterday— our song sung by morning birds that perch above me. My ears stretch to the melodious enchantment of the breeze resting lightly on my roof. My life inflates with the pure air found outside. The inside air—spoiled, stale— needs cleaning. They gather around me, seeking the truth of who I am. But I do not hold the code to your life, only mine. I descend into the attics of my inner world. My eyes fumble, holding the rails that carry me gently— down into the depths of my new existence.
