Sea and Storm
The sea lay calm in silver breath, A mirror holding dawn’s first light, Soft whispers kissed the waiting shore, As gulls stitched silence into flight. Then far away, the heavens stirred, A low, dark drum began to beat, The storm rose up with raging lungs And hurled its anger at the deep. Waves leapt high like shattered crowns, Their voices torn with thunder’s cry, The sea no longer gentle-blue, But iron-dark beneath the sky. Yet in the chaos, beauty burned— A wild ballet of fear and grace, For storm and sea are lovers sworn To clash, then fall in one embrace. When silence healed the wounded air, The sea still breathed, unchanged, made new, A quiet strength beneath its scars, Enduring storms it always knew.
