Saying goodbye
Saying goodbye to you feels like accidentally pressing pause there was more I wanted to see so it feels like breaking attraction laws a wave turns into a handshake which turns into you pulling me close turns to spinning me around the kitchen until we turn into a pose and then both pulling back as our laughter consumes the room obviously we were meant to be together that, anybody would assume because saying goodbye to you feels like blocking cupids arrow like thinking you'll make the turn when the paths never been more narrow and so we flirt with the idea of a very prolonged "see you later" I told my heart not to read into it but it loves playing the traitor saying goodbye to you is like asking the sunset to hide why would I care for a world of colorless it's like asking me to lie when I much rather lie next to you swaying in my seat as we roam and commit to memory how your hair flows with every beat with my eyes closed to pretend you'll still be there when I wake like seeing your favorite glass fall in slow motion, watching it break but I'm some other universe we're faster than time I reach out at the right moment and we don't have to say goodbye.
