saying goodbye
we made a promise, I would never break. forever I am your both body mind and soul. but when you told me, I cried... I can't bare the thought of losing you, not for some good for saken war... but the twinkle in your eyes, I couldn't help but be proud... I ironed your uniform, cleaned your boots, I raised the flag in are yard. I smile as I watched, are son wanting to be just like you, I stood at the door and watch as you departed. I was scared to lose the one I loved most, but proud to see you go. you gave everything to are country, all for are freedom. you went as far as to give your life... now I stand here twenty years later, same house, same flag that hung in the yard... but now instead of you, I see my baby boy all grown up, dressed in green standing proud, he always said he was going to be just like daddy. Now I wave off my son just as I had done for you so many years ago his own wife and kid standing by my side. and although we are scared we wouldn't have it any other way...
