Save me- revised
There is a storm living in my soul, a quiet, ancient ache that keeps clawing at my light. My love for you rises like a lantern in the blackness of me— soft, trembling, desperate to guide me home. But sorrow is a thief and it keeps breaking into my chest stealing whatever joy I manage to gather. I try to follow the warmth of us, to let your love be my compass, my salvation, my reason to keep walking— but the darkness knows my name and it calls to me with a voice too familiar. I run. God, I run. But the shadow is fast and I am so tired— tired in the bones, tired in the mind, tired in the soul. I have been running my whole life from ghosts I never asked for, from burdens I never chose, from storms I never created. And sometimes I just want to stop… to breathe… to be held instead of hunted. Save me— not because I am weak, but because I am worn. Save me— not from the world, but from the weight inside me. Just tell me I don’t have to run anymore.
