Sand
Do you think the universe is but a grain of sand, Lying on a beach on some greater land, With waves of sorrow washed upon the shore, Like tears that befall the face of a celestial whore? Folding older times one under another, Nestled closely as children to the bosom of their mother. Better find shelter; a great storm is in the wind— Death is on the horizon; better make your mend. New sands are coming to cover up the old, There’s no going back; the past has grown cold. If you could change your life, what would you attest? "I would be a dove saving lost times in my nest." Do you think the universe is but a grain of sand? I don't know the answer, but time’s at hand. Death is swinging wildly; Zeus is casting light, Splitting mortal existence apart this very night. Grasp your love and hold your hearts tight; Don't let them see you—stay out of sight. One more wave; chains of time go slack, An icy blue hue cast over the black. Frozen in time for eternity we be, The pods of old washed under by the sea. Do you think the universe is but a grain of sand, Torn from existence by words of fellow man?
