sanctioned sins
The law may smile on deeds of gray, Where shadows dance in light of day. A gilded mask can hide the face, Of truths that scorn the holy space. A hand that signs to steal and take, A word that bends but doesn’t break, A silent nod, a looking past, These sins, though veiled, will bind you fast. For judgment’s not in courts alone, But in the heart, when night has grown. What justice sees, what mercy blinds, Are whispers haunting restless minds. Though laws may pardon what you’ve planned, Your soul, still bound, is less than grand.
