"Sacrifice "
In the depths of my soul, a darkness resides A heavy burden weighs me down, with no tide I've given all I have, with empty hands Why must I suffer thus, without any demands My heart aches with every breath As if pierced by a thousand deaths For all my efforts, naught but strife Leaves me drained, as if cutthroat life Oh, why must I toil so long To reap only bitter song? Wherefore art thou, sweet reward? Doth fortune mock my every word? Cliches they say, "time heals all wounds" But time doth not ease my sorrow's stings It merely numbs the pain, until I'm left with scars that never fade away So I trudge onward, through this storm With each step, my spirit torn Longing for peace, a distant dream That eludes me, like an unseen scheme Yet still I push, despite the strain Hoping someday, I'll break the chain Of this vicious cycle, where I gain Nothing but pain, and endless refrain
