running in the grass
I remember when you and I were small children, We didn't know about politics, We didn't know who we were, We didn't know we'd fall apart, All we knew was running through the grass. But with each blade we pass, We grow. We grow closer to each other, And yet it's still like when you said "I'll love you to the moon and back" You only went halfway then left me. All alone with my PTSD Haunting me like a ghost. And now when I remember the blades of grass, all I can see Are the blades you stuck in my back. One By One. But even then, I love you. I love you even though you're the cause of the war in my head. And you will never see this, I know that. But still, I love you.
