Run
Run. To run is what I want to do Escape my inner thoughts and voice But I can't seem to make the choice; "Do I stay or go?" I want to get up and fly but what will I be leaving behind; a life, a family, a broken home? Those exact things I whine about are what I can't let go Anything that's left to grab onto There's nothing I can do to stop the flood of memories I've gone through I can't run I can't flee I can't break out from everything I'll leave So I don't run, I just hide I keep quiet and sit inside Pace the tracks that I've been told not to The same ones that my pen tattoos each night when I'm alone Nothing that anyone could ever know Something to never be aired You could never even share the same key to me as these words do So I hide I hide deep inside my room Where I've spent all these years crying and screaming for no one to hear The door is locked but the force to open it is below me: My heart And once you get to know me, you'll see that all I've ever wanted to do is run Run away from me Because my head is the room with the door and I am the key
