Rotting Flowers
From my rotting body and rotting thoughts, a weed shall grow. You won't get rid of me, I shall never, ever go. From these seeds, flowers bloom. But I'm still a weed so I am doomed. My roots dig deep, my stems grow tall My massive kingdom of plants will never fall. Maggots crawl across my face Cut me up, serve me on a plate. Worms crawl in, worms crawl out A dog sniff around with his snout Bark and growl, he points me out Their too late as I've degraded Of many colours, I am created Bittersweet nightshade poisons Tall chicorys poises Jimsons weed, the devil's snare Eat it only if you dare Garlic mustard, the pungent odor The blue Asiatic day flower Goldenrods, beautifully crazy Fleabanes, like mini daisies Flys buzz all around me Creeping speedwell surrounding Growing in rich soil, white clovers Yellow hues everywhere, Oxalis looking over I am dead, on a rope Hanging silently, by the throat. Search and rescue, look for me But I am looking for me too
