Rotten
This society slowly kills my soul, Where everything must follow a plan— Graduate, study, work, then marry— A life prewritten, a dream they grip. Why must we all want the same things? Chasing goals placed in our subconscious, Never asked what we truly wanted, Just silent nods to their demands. The weight falls hard upon our shoulders. They say, “This is how it’s always been,” But why can't we change the pattern? In our digital world, So many things lose their light. Romance fades into transaction, The intimacy between lovers loses meaning. People tend to want more and more, Not knowing when to stop, With no real goal in sight, Silently following the orders— Like marionettes in a play. Life has become so tiring, Because we aren't living it for ourselves anymore. My soul feels rotten, Bruised by expectations and demands. I long for meaning— Not a prewritten life.
