Roses and Diamonds
Roses and diamonds, dresses and pearls: these are the things that are meant for girls. Snips and snails ,suits and ties: these are the things that are meant for guys. Where do I fall, where do I land. Grabbing at both with either hand. When you look at me, what do you see? Because all of this is confusing me. I'm not a boy ,but I'm not a girl. Is there a place I belong in this world? I just can't decide, no I just don't fit in, people are telling me that it's a sin. I yearn for a place, I want to belong but how do I do that when it's just the same song. Again and again it's stuck in my head. You're a girl that's what you’ll be until you are dead But I'm not a girl of that I am sure.I know that I am not a her. So let's work this out where do I start when all that I hear is gender is parts. Tiaras and dresses glitz and glam. Is that really who I am? No, I don't think so. Pants and tie, perhaps I’m really just a guy. Not quite as it would seem In the middle where lines between masculine and feminine blur that's where I’m sure I belong. I am them and they are me. In between is where my place will be.
