Roses.
It's a flower A sunflower maybe No it has to be a rose It definitely is a rose I see it's beauty but also I see it's thorns I can hear what it's petals are saying to each other Like they knew this day would come and like they knew I would come But what more could they expect That's what they were made for right? To get raised only to be uprooted, given praise then they become a forgotten case The roses are expected to bring happiness, Coverups by cheating boyfriends Apologies from violent husband's you name it Roses are supposed to stay beautiful Roses are supposed to remain upright Roses are supposed to smell nice Roses are supposed to do so many other things But who says they have to be all these things Maybe roses don't like being roses Maybe roses would like to be ugly sometime Get their stem a little bent and their petals a little withered sometime But how can they when they are wired to be beautiful And it's something they have to deal with all their lives They say with beauty comes happiness But the thorns on the outside keep moving towards the insides And so roses cry, because its becoming hard to bear the price of their beauty Because roses, are girls!
