room by room
Timidly I tiptoe the empty rooms within my head. Each door is opened with careless ease for not a word is said. All are darkened, for the light that once shined there is gone. Even the corridors which bind them wait for the break of dawn. My feet feel heavy as I lumber from room to room. Hoping that Hope is in one instead of my impending doom. I stop my shuffling despair and curl down to a ball. I have no more tears left to leak the legends of my fall. My lungs explode with wordless screams nobody hears. Between dark shadows my demons frolic their snarky jeers. They own me now, I have no choice in my tattered state. To listen to their malicious victory over me they berate. I lost my Hope again, she slipped beyond my insanity. And with her gone now I have to question my own humanity. How could I, dare I, be the only of us to see. I was better off with you, but you are better off without me.
