Romance
I want a romance. But I don't want our conversations to be hidden under the cloak of night. I don't want to be a pretty pass-time. I don't want to keep them from my parents, because I'm scared of what they'd say. Because I know what they'd say. I know I deserve more. I want a romance. I want to be presented to their friends with respect and pride. I want to be thought about when they are in class. I want my parents to see them and smile when they approve, Because I know what they'd say. We know they are what I deserve. But frankly, is a perfect romance ever going to arrive? Is the way I want to be valued and cherished only on the big screens? I look around me and hear words about women that I wish these boys' mothers could hear. I hear the murmurs of, not words of love, but words of lust. I see their actions, their behavior, and think to myself: is this what love has become? But still, I want a romance. I cant help but hope to be swept off my feet one day, by the perfect prince charming But what can you do when prince charming no longer cares for Cinderella? When he values the price of the crystal shoe more than his supposed true love. Do you think Cinderella would still want her romance?
