rock bottom
You met me at the surface Enticed me with the comfort of familiarity I watched as you began to tie Stones to my ankles Your hand reached for mine And guided me on tightening the knots Soon I began to sink With you by my side Your hand holding mine I was sure that the burning Was the price to pay For what you called true love Now I can see it for what it was There was nothing romantic about it I was deprived of clarity, all oxygen gone You pulled me down to rock bottom Because you were tired of living there alone And I let you do it I think that says more about me Than it ever could of you But I know better now, I learned from my mistakes My stones are gone And the light is shining through Guiding me back to the surface Fucking far away from you
