ritual
4:30 Still silent, a dark shade of blue Everything is asleep The sun around the bend Slowly illuminating the land. I sit in the field of dewy velvet grass With my drum, Incense, sage, herbs. Connecting to Mother Earth. Connected to the ground like the roots of a tree. Cross legged; Meditative. Energized. I call to the earth. I call for her spirit. I beat my drum slow to start into a steady shamanic beat. The first calls of the morning join in on the ritual. We sing together goodmorning. High above in a tall western red The goodmorning call of a bald eagle. Regal and beautiful their pirched on a top branch. Ready to start the day. We ecknolaged one another. Before they called again this time to their partner a mile or more away. Their partner responds. The day has begun.
