I saw a girl today she returned our cart to us She worked next door, right next to me I didn't give it much thought I looked up from my register, to see who had come in but had to do a double take, as she was a person who'd not been in In work uniform, she wore green But what I saw of her was unforseen Short blond hair, golden as the sun Her kind face really threw me for a run We glanced at each other, for a second or two Her first impression, her kind reaction The way she held her soul I met her eyes for just a brief few My heart felt something not foreseen So unexpected, yet so keen A connection of sort, I'm not sure what But I felt we'd be friends if we met I couldn't do anything, I was on the clock The managers watching me like a hawk. I shifted around, unsure of what to do and decided later I'd come and find you. So that's what I did, when I went to lunch I went next door, and hoped you'd be there, on lunch I brought some coupons from my store So I could say thank you, and please come back more. Not something I'm fond of doing In fact it's not typical of me, what am I doing? I ate my nerves and fighting brain I bravely asked a worker for your name...
