Repercussion
I lay here with nothing but shame. Perhaps my father was right, When you play with love, love will hunt you back. Even if I hide under the comfort of my bed With blankets as fortress, the darkness - my comfort, Still, the light peeks thru the tiniest hole in my wall, Reflecting in my vintage blue blouse, The one I wore when we first met In that lonely cathedral with soothing hymn. I almost forgot I was there for a game To claim you as trophy and put your name Under the galleries of men I tried to “love” With scorching flames that soon all died. And now your memories fill this dreadful void, These lips without yours have gone dry and pale With nothing but this ray of light to look upon. ©reddragonfly⚘
