Reminiscence
It’s the way the fallen autumn leaves suffuses along the stream, streaming lazily to the vast ocean with no purpose, no haste; I lay here, for hours in my bed, A slice of sunshine created a spotlight Around my left eye, I didn’t care. I can see the cluster of dust flying around in that ring of light, they seem lost, or am I? No sense of urgency without you here; Your smell still lingers on the pillows like stubborn mosses on stagnant stones. The short hand strikes six; long hand, one, I can hear you ask, from days before your tragic end, “What do you want for breakfast, love?” It echoes in the azure walls of our room, Suffusing like the ghost of your absence. ©reddragonfly⚘ (prompt: suffuse)
