Remembrance
What we had was special, You said so yourself. You said you felt for me in ways you felt for no one else. You said you couldn't leave me, That we were just too good, But I suppose that time was something we misunderstood. What we had was special, Otherwise I wouldn't feel. And when you're gone, the pain of loss reminds me it was real. I tire of myself now, Sick with verse and rhyme, But poem is the sugar for the remedy of time. What we had was special, forever in my mind, And someday soon I hope we both find something of its kind. But here within this moment, And maybe everyday, I'll sit here with my pen in hand, finding ways to say, I love you.
