Release
Release, it happened so ardently. The pressure building, I'm tense. That's it, let go...release. It took many years, and it came with many tears. The years brought deep fears. It brought deep insecurities that I kept buried hidden within. My mouth yearned to express joy in its fullest expression but was held back by a dark cloud of social rejection. My mind replayed all the ridiculing comments that I took as confirmation of my social abnormality. My truest sense of self was repressed, and my authentic emotions were not expressed. As I laid back in the dentists chair, I felt myself get tense. My heart was racing, and my mind was pacing. This moment I've waited so long for is finally here. The metal forceps gripped my bone, and I felt the pressure building. The anticipation is growing. My eyes started to water, and I felt such gratitude. The dark cloud that's held me down has finally been released. With teary eyes, I thanked him and his assistant. My life is forever changed, and the chains that bound my happiness have finally been released. July 12,2024 Written by Victoria Anne Bryant 1:56 pm
