Rekindling the Poet Within
I am learning to rekindle the poet within me— to sit with uncertainty, to give form to thoughts I’ve long kept caged. She was buried deep, locked in the quietest corner of my soul, the part I dared not share— for who could ever understand? Her pen ran dry, her verses silenced, lost in the void of a world that stifles wonder, that trades dreams for survival. She became the adult who had to silence her mind just to endure the noise of reality. Now, I rebuild the bridges that crumbled when I chose to shut her away, searching for a way to live as I once did— freely, honestly, lyrically. But the poems she writes now are shadowed, heavy with the silence of the years. Perhaps this darkness is what becomes of a voice left unheard too long.
