Reignited Light
Father loves his daughter Yet, she does not belong Friends remember laughter Memories like lyrics to a song She can crochet, sing, and even write Still, she feels no true connection Every skill contains a spectrum of insight Of which none give her true direction Her memory flows like waves Specifics she cannot seem to recall Before experience comes the memory it craves She surrenders her dream and proceeds to fall Depression is a silent weapon Devouring joy for a time unknown Cloaking dreams in a chilling omen And shadows where warmth had grown Her bound heart urged her to open skies The heart had reasons, but nothing to justify To stay true to the script, she lifts her eyes Then she begins to cry Her emotions are penned as the paper turns Zen was achieved through her arduous climb Her brilliant light returns As she starts to rhyme
