Refusal
She struggled to breathe as he walked away. She tried not to scream, to call out his name. She stood there alone as the rain poured down, concealing her tears, and drowning her sounds. She watched as he walked and climbed into his car. He swiftly drove off leaving her scarred. He left her with nothing but a broken heart. She fell to her knees and turned the pain into art. Slowly, with time she stood on her own picking up the pieces of her shadowed soul. She refused to stay broken. She'd heal up her soul, and show the whole world a strength even she didn't know.
