Who am I to be happy, In a world where strings control my every move? A puppet, brought to life on this earthly stage, Dancing to the whims of fate, unable to choose. Who am I to smile when people die, To find joy amidst the tears and mournful cries? A painted face concealing the sorrow within, Forced to play a role, as the world passes by. Who am I to revel in the December cheer, While Palestinians suffer, their dreams crushed in despair? A heart torn between festivities and anguish, A puppet's soul yearning for justice, aware. Who am I to be ungrateful, When others lack the blessings I possess? A privileged existence, taken for granted, A puppet's guilt, burdened with excess. Who am I to lose sleep over exams, While others struggle for basic needs? A mind consumed by stress and expectations, A puppet's anxiety, tangled in academic weeds. Who am I to disrespect my mother, After all the sacrifices she has made? A puppet's ingratitude, a painful regret, For the love and care that will never fade.
