Reflection of Hate
As I gaze upon my face so cold, A mirror image of the lies I've told, Every flaw and imperfection, Revealing my self-hate and rejection. The darkness in my eyes I see, Reflects the pain that lives in me, My lips that speak such cruel words, The hate within me often stirred. My wrinkles tell a tale of woe, The sorrow that my heart knows, Looking deeper, I see the truth, I sabotage my own youth. A distorted image stares back at me, A reflection of my own misery, This mirror shows the ugly side, The hate I can no longer hide. But in this reflection, I find a chance, To change my ways, to enhance, To love myself, flaws and all, And break free from this self-hate's thrall. So as I look upon my reflection, I choose love and introspection, To heal the wounds that lie within, And let self-hate finally thin.
