Record Time
I fall in love in record time A glance, a text, and now you're mine. I check my phone a thousand ways, Counting silence like the days. Did I reply too fast? Too slow? Do you already want to go? I overthink each word I send, A paragraph, the end, pretend. You said “goodnight” and disappeared. Now every quiet hour is feared. I stare and wait for dots to move, Some proof that I’m still in your groove. You smiled once and that was all, No one else could make me fall. Now I’m obsessed, can’t sleep, can’t eat, You left a mark I can’t delete. Six days, and still, it feels like years, I swam in hope and drowned in fears. And though I know it isn't wise, I'm chasing comfort in new eyes.
