Reckless Hands
Although it's been awhile now I still can't believe that you would ever do or say the things you did and said to me I thought you were my forever You were my love and my best friend Yet you let your demons come between us and I didn't recognize you, towards the end How could you be so reckless How could you hurt me and break my spirit so bad? I don't regret a single second, though even the happiest memories still make me sad I saw the deepest parts of you, The good no one else could see and when troubles came rushing in I held your hand, and said let it be I picked you up when you were down when I had, you did too now I see when you said you loved me none of those times were true In the end, I saw through the smoke as the mirrors shattered all around you were simply another joker unworthy of a king's crown as I sit upon my throne some things take me back-- I had all my eggs in one basket and carelessly you let them crack No matter how much cushion No matter how much tender care everything your reckless hands touched ended in despair
