Rainbow's End
Rainbow's End by Jack A.S. Dunce The pouring rain abated at long last From fierce torrents to but a lofting mist That quickly put the skies in hazy cast And brought about a rainbow to exist. Across the sky it straddled stygian clouds, Imbuing colors to the dreary scene, Affording cheer to eyes hidden in shrouds, And soothing troubled souls to be serene. I really wish to stay a little more, Admiring everything about this grace Whose light broke through the clouds of the downpour, And lit the long way back to my safe place. It's wishful thinking, I fully know; No spark will last longer than a moment, As rainbows do vanish in the meadows, Her colors fading with the sun's ascent. --🏵️-- ©️pgmr 05/26/2025
