Rain
I absolutely love rain. Hearing the droplets fall against a tin roof is the most beautiful yet calming sound. Being useful for many things in life, farming, letting emotions out, playing in, cleansing things and people, etc. As kids, we'd run, splash around in puddles, soaking up the moisture without a care in the world. Coming back inside, drenched with shoes squeaking, clothes dripping wet. As teenagers, we used it to be emotional and let our silent cries fall from our eyes without being judged. Using it as a romantic aspect to finally kiss the ones we were with. As adults... Well, we forgot how to be kids and teenagers. Complain that we get wet. Complain about traffic and those who splash us as we walk on the sidewalks. I believe rain gives us the excuse to be all the above. Run through the puddles to show kids it's okay to be free. Let our cries out again and just say it's just the rain. Stand still and just let the moisture soak into our skin and clothes just breathing and cleansing ourselves. So let's remember all the great things about the rain and not be these adults who complain about the weather. ©️~WithinShadow~ Oct. 8th, 2025
